I was/am a huge fan of Al Jarreau since I was a pre-teen. My older siblings played siblings his records and I was an instant fan. I live in Oklahoma and anytime Al Jarreau would be performing in a surrounding state, I tried to make the trip. My older brother lives in Las Vegas and I also was able to see Al in concert while there. I actually met you, Chris Walker after a Las Vegas concert while you were waiting to make your next venue( you were outside the casino waiting for transport) I so enjoyed visiting with you and began to follow your career as well. Got a copy of your cd at a book store in Oklahoma. I play your version of “The first time I ever saw your face” over and over and sing with you while driving in my car! Very anxious for the tribute cd to come out. I think it is an excellent way to honor Al Jarreau. I have also heard you sing at his concerts when he would give you the floor to sing Human Nature by Michael Jackson etc. Love your playing guitar and the range of your voice doing the background music as well. I could go on but just wanted to say thanks for what you and the other folks are doing. I also hope to hear more of Joe Turano’ s work in the future as well.
